Apple Shortcuts/Automation NFC Toggle

One annoying thing about the UX is how many clicks/steps it takes to toggle on or off bricking your phone. You have to find the brick app, open the app, tap the brick button, touch the physical brick, and then close the NFC popup. I think this "flow" could be simplified and made to be faster using the automation option in Apple Shortcuts.
In theory, the physical brick has a detectable NFC chip, and there is already a "When I tap an NFC tag" automation within Apple Shortcuts. Because of this, you could simply set that up, and then have it run a shortcut to toggle the brick mode on or off depending on the current status. This simple automation would mean the user's steps would be simplified to tapping the physical brick to toggle the brick mode on/off, and that is really it. No need to find/open the app and do any additional taps to get to this point.
However, since this doesn't account for there being multiple "mode" options, the developers might need to consider setting up a "favorite mode" feature. So that the shortcut would "toggle on/off the favorite mode".
I imagine this might be super easy to develop all within the app for a future update, and if you want this enhancement to be more accessible to all users consider building the automation into the app itself somehow since some users would struggle creating a shortcut/automation themselves.
Love this app and product, but I think there is room for improvement. I would love to just simply walk up to my brick, tap it with my phone, and that literally be all that is required for me brick or unbrick my phone.

Widget

I think it would be helpful to have a widget that exposes the brick button. That way, from my lock screen or home screen I can brick my phone, without having to swipe to the app, open the app, and then press and hold the brick button.

Bricking the phone by just tapping the Brick without going to the App

Unbricking too. I don't want to search for and open the app first if possible.

I am using the widget now, and find it useful, but the time it displays as ‘bricked for today’ is always wildly inaccurate, and doesn’t seem to update until I unbrick, which sort of defeats the purpose.

you can take the described NFC shortcut, and use it to open the brick app, the it is
- tapping the brick (app opens)
- tapping brick button on iPhone
- tapping the brick again (bricks)

I’d love this as well!!

I accidentally put NFG instead of NFC on the title originally 😅
